dc.description	When we enter the magical world of computer networks we realize that the advances that have originated around them since their advent have been significant, to such an extent that today any organization has a network within its scheme to ensure correct and effective communications and security. This situation gives reasons to be at the forefront of the elements that make up the networks, starting this time from the interconnection devices, their implementation and importance, and bearing in mind the relevance of these in the operation of networks. These devices play a fundamental role in convergent networks, a term associated with the participation of services (voice-data-video) in the same medium, which allows the different ISPs to provide this technology to their thousands of users around the world and gives companies the possibility of developing their operations at any time and place with effectiveness and productivity. This thematic axis will cover the basic aspects and configuration of interconnection devices to switched and convergent networks.	es
dc.description.abstract	Al introducirnos en el mágico mundo de las redes informáticas nos damos cuenta de que los avances que se han originado en torno a estas desde su advenimiento han sido significativos, a tal punto que hoy en día cualquier organización posee una red dentro de su esquema para garantizar correctas y efectivas comunicaciones, así como seguridad. Esta situación da razones para estar a la vanguardia en los elementos que componen las redes, partiendo en esta oportunidad de los dispositivos de interconexión, su implementación e importancia, y teniendo presente la relevancia de estos en el funcionamiento de las redes. Estos dispositivos cumplen un papel fundamental en las redes convergentes, término asociado a la participación de servicios (voz-dato-video) en un mismo medio, lo cual permite a los diferentes ISP brindar esta tecnología a sus miles de usuarios en todo el mundo y da a las empresas la posibilidad de desarrollar sus operaciones en cualquier momento y lugar con efectividad y productividad. En este eje temático se abordarán los aspectos básicos y de configuración de los dispositivos de interconexión a redes conmutadas y convergentes.	es
