dc.description	Chemistry is a natural science, which focuses on the study of matter and its transformations. It allows a better understanding of the natural phenomena that affect us daily, and allows to achieve an understanding of the matter, to make innovations that are applied in many fields of engineering. In this reading the student will understand the importance of chemistry, and will be able to develop fundamental concepts that will accompany him in his professional life. Among the concepts to be studied are: the metric system, conversions, temperature scales, matter and its changes, distinguishing between physical and chemical properties. All of the above will allow the student to learn basic aspects of chemistry, which will be of great help to understand the why of things, in such a way that he/she understands the importance of chemistry in a world full of transformations.	es
dc.description.abstract	La química es una ciencia natural, que se centra en el estudio de la materia y sus transformaciones. Permite entender de mejor forma los fenómenos naturales que cotidianamente nos afectan, y permite al lograr un entendimiento de la materia, realizar innovaciones que se aplican en numerosos campos de la ingeniería. En esta lectura el estudiante comprenderá la importancia de la química, y podrá ir desarrollando conceptos fundamentales que lo acompañaran en su vida profesional, entre los conceptos a estudiar, se tienen: el sistema métrico, conversiones, escalas de temperatura, la materia y sus cambios, distinguir entre propiedades físicas y químicas. Todo lo anterior permitirá al estudiante, ir conociendo aspectos básicos de la química, los cuales serán de gran ayuda para comprender el porqué de las cosas, de forma tal que comprenda la importancia de la química en un mundo lleno de transformaciones.	es
