dc.description	Starting its new decade, the Costa Rican Network of Sustainable Educational Institutions (REDIES) has matured and strengthened its internal management, as well as cooperation actions at the local, national and international level. During the year 2021, the monitoring of environmental indicators continued, 10 of the 15 institutions appeared as members of their indicator report, achieving 72% compliance in the presentation of the indicators. During the year 2021, REDIES carried out outreach activities that benefited local organizations and communities in the province of Guanacaste, in addition to co-organizing virtual forums with national and international scope, including the Recycling Day forum, the III Ibero-American Forum of Universities and Sustainability, and the Seminars of the Little Book of Green Pushes. Each of the member organizations, as well as the Network as a whole, carried out various awareness-raising and education activities for sustainability throughout the year, for example, the celebration of environmental events, and training activities. REDIES maintains its adherence to the Alliance of Ibero-American Networks of Universities for Sustainability and the Environment (ARIUSA), as well as its participation in national networks such as the Costa Rican Network for the Reduction of Food Loss and Waste. Additionally, starting this year, REDIES participates in the Observatory of Sustainability in Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean.	es
dc.description.abstract	Iniciando su nueva década, la Red Costarricense de Instituciones Educativas Sostenibles (REDIES) ha madurado y fortalecido su gestión interna, así como las acciones de cooperación a nivel local, nacional e internacional. Durante el año 2021 se continuó con el seguimiento de indicadores ambientales institucionales, 10 de las 15 instituciones miembro presentaron su reporte de indicadores, logrando un 72% de cumplimiento en la presentación de los indicadores. Durante el año 2021, REDIES realizó actividades de extensión que beneficiaron a organizaciones y comunidades locales de la provincia de Guanacaste, además de co-organizar foros virtuales con alcance nacional e internacional, entre ellos, el foro del Día del Reciclaje, el III Foro Iberoamericano de Universidades y Sostenibilidad, y los Seminarios del Pequeño Libro de los Empujones Verdes. Cada una de las organizaciones miembro, así como la Red en su conjunto, realizaron durante todo el año diversas actividades de concienciación y educación para la sostenibilidad, por ejemplo, la celebración de efemérides ambientales, y la realización de actividades de capacitación. REDIES mantiene su adhesión a la Alianza de Redes Iberoamericanas de Universidades por la Sustentabilidad y el Ambiente (ARIUSA), así como su participación en redes nacionales como la Red Costarricense Disminución de Pérdida y Desperdicio de Alimentos. Adicionalmente, a partir de este año, REDIES participa en el Observatorio de la Sustentabilidad en la Educación Superior de América Latina y el Caribe.	es
