dc.description.abstract En el año 2020, cumpliendo 10 años de funcionamiento, la Red Costarricense de Instituciones Educativas Sostenibles (REDIES) está conformada por 18 organizaciones públicas y privadas de las cuales, 14 son instituciones de educación superior. El trabajo de la red se ha caracterizado por ser un trabajo voluntario y colaborativo con el propósito de promover y facilitar mejoras en la gestión ambiental a nivel institucional y nacional. El compromiso de las organizaciones miembro se refleja en que todas cuentan con política ambiental aprobada y casi el 80% reportó su desempeño ambiental. En el marco del décimo aniversario, REDIES organizó dos eventos de alcance nacional e internacional: · Foro Virtual “Una parada obligatoria de la educación superior frente al COVID-19 y su impacto ambiental” · Conferencia virtual “Integrando Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) en las instituciones de educación superior” Además de coorganizar, en conjunto con la Red Costarricense para la Disminución de Pérdidas y Desperdicios de Alimentos, el IV Conversatorio Nacional Cero Desperdicio de Alimentos, “Nuestro Rol ante el Desperdicio de Alimentos”. A nivel internacional, REDIES se mantiene como miembro de la Asociación de Redes Iberoamericana de Universidades en Sustentabilidad y Ambiente (ARIUSA) y vinculada programa ONU Ambiente y su Alianza de la Juventud y la Educación (YEA). En el marco de estas alianzas, se presentó la experiencia de REDIES en el lanzamiento del “Pequeño libro de los empujones verdes”. A nivel nacional, REDIES ha colaborado con iniciativas promovidas por otras organizaciones públicas y privadas, generando así mayor alcance de la Red y sus aliados, por ejemplo: · Participación en la mesa de trabajo Estilos de Vida Sostenibles convocada por DIGECA-MINAE en el marco de la Política Nacional de Producción y Consumo Sostenibles. · Colaboración en la recopilación de información relacionada a la gestión de residuos electrónicos, como parte del Proyecto de residuos electrónicos para América Latina (PREAL). · Alianza con SUSTY, Ecoins y Coopervidores para promover la categoría Hogares Sostenibles del Programa Bandera Azul Ecológica y el uso de la plataforma Hogar Azul. A nivel interno, se ofrecieron dos capacitaciones y se trabajó en el desarrollo del plan estratégico. Gracias a este proceso se cocreó el sueño de la Red en cuanto a su contribución a la sociedad costarricenses y las propias organizaciones que la integran, siendo un referente y una red que inspire a otras organizaciones. Finalizando este año una década de acción de REDIES, con agrado presentamos este informe que resume el trabajo realizado por las instituciones miembro en el año 2020. es
