Algunos procesos creativos inician con el objetivo de solucionar un problema, la meta es utilizar la experiencia para obtener respuestas creativas. Los procesos cognitivos no están sujetos al conocimiento que tenga un individuo en una rama específica, estos procesos son necesarios para entender la solución de los problemas desde una perspectiva creativa, generando ideas que serán analizadas en todo el proceso creativo para la resolución de problemas. Como se mencionó anteriormente en este curso, el pensamiento divergente es parte del proceso creativo, donde involucra producir nuevas respuestas con la información que se tenga disponible. Por otro lado, existen formas de medir la creatividad, como la conocida “Matriz de Creatividad”, que es utilizada por las organizaciones como un instrumento que ayuda a explorar ciertas características de las personas que pueden influir en el éxito de la organización donde laboran. El aprendizaje es descubriento, donde la creatividad se hace presente para resolver un problema, buscando una manera diferente de hacer las cosas, para responder de manera original, para que esto se dé, el cerebro debe actuar de manera conjunta con sus dos hemisferios. También a través de esta lectura, se abordará la actividad de pensar y las habilidades de cada tipo de pensamiento y sus formas para la resolución de diferentes situaciones. Ambos pensamientos, los podemos generar a la hora de buscar la forma de resolver un problema, cada uno bajo su orientación, para el caso del pensamiento convergente, la respuesta a ese problema se dará de forma espontánea y natural ya que utiliza la razón, la lógica y la experiencia, con respecto al pensamiento divergente, es aquel que lo impulsa una manera diferente de ver las cosas, lo hace por medio de ideas creativas al explorar las posibles soluciones del problema.
